One of our priorities for our 4-year-olds at the Preschool is getting them ready for Primary school.
Through a specially designed programme that is facilitated by experienced teachers, children who are soon to turn 5-years-old, are guided for a term or two through a rich learning experience that is aimed at strengthening both their knowledge in pre-literacy, pre-numeracy and life skills to prepare them for success at Primary school.
Within this transition programme, there is a strong focus on collaboration, perseverance, patience, creativity, self-help skills, ability to follow instructions, show initiative and embrace the Saint Kentigern way through play-based learning experiences, to simulate routine and familiarise children to common practices at the Primary school.
Working together with each child and their peers, we continue to foster curiosity and love for life-long learning. Our children learn to be critical thinkers and to develop confidence to negotiate and collaborate with others.
