Welcome to 2022.
This year we are looking forward to getting back to normal in both school life as well as a return to our SKOCA event calendar. Old Collegians have missed seeing their children and grandchildren receiving awards, competing at sports, and celebrating their achievements in person at the different Saint Kentigern schools, and I know you are all keen to reconnect with the Saint Kentigern Community as soon as possible.
Our usual annual events calendar is going to be compressed into a very busy second half of 2022. We have the following events to look forward to:
- 50th Anniversary Chapel Service of Saint Kentigern College Chapel (14 August)
- Inaugural Saint Kentigern Distinguished Alumni Awards (3 September)
- Old Collegian evenings in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin
- Old Collegian Sporting Fixtures with College Cricket, Hockey and Netball First teams
- Wirihana Cricket Cup between Saint Kentigern Boys School Old Boys and Current 1st XI
- 25th Anniversary Dinner for Class of 1997 for Saint Kentigern College
- Annual SKC Old Collegian Golf Day
- SKOCA Annual General Meeting (30 June)
Please note: a number of these fixtures are still being finalised and dates will be forthcoming.
Our annual events include sporting fixtures between Old Collegians and various sporting premier teams from the College and Boys School. This years’ 25th Anniversary Reunion is for the for the graduating class of 1997. Please get in touch with myself or someone on the Committee if you are interested in helping to organise what is becoming an annual fixture and a great way to reconnect with your fellow classmates. This is usually held towards the later part of the year.
I am pleased to announce that as part of the 50th year Saint Kentigern College Chapel celebration, SKOCA is proud to support the Saint Kentigern Archives with the purchase of custom made portable branded display plinths and LED Portable lightboxes. These will be used across all Saint Kentigern schools displaying our unique heritage including at special events such as the Chapel’s 50th year celebration.
