Our College students delivered an exceptional performance, with outstanding results across NCEA and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 2021. The results reflect our students’ and teachers’ commitment to academic excellence and dedication towards delivering their personal best despite another challenging year balancing learning online and in school.
Two out of only 7 perfect scores in NZ for 2021 International Baccalaureate
For IB, two of our 2021 graduates, Kevin He and Nathan Xu, achieved the highest possible score of 45 out of 45 points. This is an impressive achievement for Kevin and Nathan, who join five other students in New Zealand who were awarded full marks in 2021.
They are two of 239 students to be awarded 45 points, out of 16,860 students from the Asia-Pacific region, who completed the Diploma assessment in November 2021. They are placed in the top 0.18% worldwide with their results.
In addition to Kevin’s and Nathan’s remarkable achievement, an additional 13 students scored ‘40 points or above’ from the maximum of 45 points. These students represent approximately the top 6% of IB Diploma graduates globally.
The 39 Year 13 students who entered the IB Diploma programme in 2021 achieved an average point score of 38. This compares favourably with the world average of 32.39 and the New Zealand average of 36.
100% pass rate across all NCEA levels
For NCEA, our 2021 cohort achieved outstanding NCEA results with 100% of our students achieving their certificates across all levels. In Level 1, 40.8% gained their certificates with an Excellence Endorsement, while 46.7% received a Merit Endorsement. In level 2 (Year 12), 42.3% gained their certificates with an Excellence Endorsement, while 40.4% received a Merit Endorsement. For Level 3, 30.8% gained their certificates with an Excellence Endorsement, while 42.7% achieved a Merit Endorsement.
Our University Entrance success rate for NCEA is at 97.1%.
