On 8 December, which also marked our last few days at school, our Year 8 girls arrived at school in PE gear ready for a day of fun. We were excited to be able to go ahead with our Big Day In.
Our day started with a human formation of 2021 on the field. A drone then flew over us for a photo of the Class of 2021. We then proceeded to team building where we were split into groups and took turns to participate in fun-filled activities. Our Year 8 girls supported one another, showed great team spirit and most importantly enjoyed good company with much laughter.
Then it was time for Mr Whippy! It was just what we needed for a sunny day out. Once we finished our ice creams, some of us went to the science room to make hokey pokey and honeycomb while the rest prepared for the ‘TikTok-off’.
For lunch, we walked down to Wairua reserve for a lovely picnic, more play and finally the ‘TikTok-off’ challenge.
Just as we thought the day was coming to an end, we were surprised by more fun activities such as water fight. But the water fight was no match for the colour run. Teachers sneaked up and threw bags of powder all over. There was coloured powder flying everywhere, all over our bodies, faces, hair and shirt. There was colour everywhere.
What a great way to end the year! A day that we will always remember. Thank you to all our wonderful teachers who helped make the day special.
